- become fluent in computation
- build connections between major mathematical ideas
- communicate through mathematical discourse, writing, modeling, and sketching representations of their thinking.
- develop a variety of strategies for mathematical thinking to develop flexibility with numbers
- self-monitor their thinking
- formulate generalizations of the big ideas of the math content
- apply knowledge of the concepts to contextual problems that connect to their world.
